Loans for Fishermen & Fish Farmers
The Kisan Credit Card covers fisheries, but eligibility turns on an asset and an authorisation rather than on income. For inland fisheries and aquaculture the applicant must own or lease a pond, tank, open water body, raceway, hatchery or rearing unit, and hold the licence required for fish farming in that state. For marine fisheries the applicant must own or lease a registered fishing vessel and hold a fishing licence or permission for estuary and sea. Telangana is landlocked, so a Telangana applicant is always on the inland track and the vessel requirement never applies - the tank or pond lease is the whole question. Andhra Pradesh applicants may be on either track depending on district. One sequencing point costs applicants months: State Fisheries Department and FFDA subsidy is released against a sanctioned bank loan, not instead of one.

Loan FAQs for Fishermen & Fish Farmers
Yes. The requirement is to own or lease a fisheries-related asset such as a pond, tank, open water body, raceway, hatchery or rearing unit. A lease qualifies, and for NABARD-structured project finance a minimum 10-year lease on the pond is commonly required so the lease outlasts the loan.
