Loans for Hotel and Lodging House Owners
Residential hotels and lodging houses are named expressly in the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act 1988, which devotes a separate Part to them alongside restaurants, eating houses and cafes. The detail worth knowing before you borrow is in section 3(3): a registration certificate runs only up to the 31st of December following its issue, whatever month you were registered in. Register in October and the certificate is good for about ten weeks. The Rules let you renew for one year or up to three years from expiry at your option, which is usually the sensible choice for anyone taking a term loan. We help hotel and lodging house owners across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh finance premises, fit-out and working capital.

Why Hotel and Lodging House Owners Get Better Rates
Your Registration Expires on 31 December
Section 3(3) of the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act 1988 makes a registration certificate valid from issue up to the 31st day of December following. It is calendar-fixed, not anniversary-based, so the month you registered in decides how much term you actually hold. Put the expiry date in your file, not the date of issue.
Renew for Up to Three Years
Rule 3(5) of the Telangana Shops and Establishments Rules 1990 lets you renew for one year or for up to three years from expiry, at your option. If you are taking a term loan, the longer renewal keeps the registration from lapsing mid-tenure. Rule 3(7) charges 25 percent of the prescribed fees for an application made on or after 2 December, and 50 percent on or after 1 January.
You Can Open While Paperwork Is Pending
Section 3(2) carries three provisos that matter when you are starting up. Registration is deemed granted if the Inspector passes no adverse order within 30 days of your statement. No inspection need be conducted before registration. And on uploading the application with enclosures, provisional registration is granted within 24 business hours, valid until final orders are passed.
The Food Licence Tier Is Not Only About Turnover
If you run a kitchen, the food licence is a second gate, and the tier you fall into depends on handling capacity as well as annual turnover. Capacity limits apply independently, so a smaller hotel that handles a large volume of milk each day can fall outside the basic registration tier despite modest turnover. Confirm your own tier before you assume registration alone is enough.

Loan FAQs for Hotel and Lodging House Owners
Yes, expressly. Section 2(10) defines an establishment as a shop, restaurant, eating-house, residential hotel, lodging house, theatre or any place of public amusement or entertainment, and includes a commercial establishment. Residential hotels and lodging houses are named in the definition rather than swept in by interpretation, and the Act sets aside a separate Part for them.
