Gabbula Srinivasulu

Gabbula Srinivasulu has worked in Indian banking for 30 years. Much of that was spent on the lender's side of the desk, including a tenure as a Branch Manager at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where his work covered retail lending, credit appraisal and branch operations.

That background is the reason he can tell a borrower why a file will be rejected before it is submitted. Most rejections are not caused by a bad credit profile - they are caused by a mismatch between the applicant and the specific lender's internal policy: an employer that is not on the approved list, a bank statement that does not corroborate the salary slip, a FOIR that crosses the threshold by two percentage points. None of this is published anywhere. It is learned by sitting in the chair that makes the decision.
